Take Another Chance

You take a chance walking down the road,
you take a chance when you cross the street,
you take a chance simply talking,
to any of the people that you meet.
But if taking chances is so easy,
why is risking our hearts so hard?
I guess we guard our hearts most closely.
But no ones heart is left unmarred.
But if we don’t risk love,
then we are left all alone and lost.
So everyone must ask themselves,
if they are willing to risk to the cost.
The cost, the price or payment,
of searching for ‘the one’
is being hurt or rejected.
It’s the risk we all run.
Things may turn out well,
then again, they may not.
It’s for a chance at true love,
this battle we have fought.
We say “OK, I’ll take the chance,
“I pray this time it works out.
“I may get hurt, and of that,
“I have very little doubt.”
“But I’ll do it anyway,
“maybe my heart won’t be broken.
“Maybe this love will be forever,
“Maybe they will mean the words spoken”
So we all must decide,
when love next asks you to dance,
will we turns our backs, walk away?
Or maybe, take another chance?
